Below is a small selection of my pieces for choir and orchestra. Recordings are a mix of live recordings and demos provided as part of the commission package.
O Come, All Ye Faithful
Commissioned by the Bach Festival Society of Winter Park, this arrangement is a “slow build.” First introduced in 2021, the chart is now a staple of the Bach Festival Society’s Christmas repertoire, having been performed live over over 25,000 audience members, nationally broadcast, and recorded for a live album.
The arrangement is for classical orchestra and choir, and is normally performed with no amplification of any kind— meaning taking care to balance the orchestra and the choir was essential.
Shades of Gray
For this commission, I was asked to take this song by the Monkees and turn it into a piece that could work along-side classical chamber music pieces. The song in its original form was nowhere near the correct style, but the melody and the text held some true beauty. A short original intro that turned into a recurring motif, some lush harmonies, and this piece was performed a few weeks later.
Glory (from Selma)
This arrangement was commissioned to be performed immediately following a work called “The Seven Last Words of the Unarmed” by Joel Thompson (a work which I was commissioned to write a special orchestration of for the occasion) being performed by the Bethune Cookman college choir, Rollins College choir, and Bach Festival Society.
Believe (with Orchestra)
Originally an a cappella arrangement for J.M.Voices, an orchestrated version was requested for certain events. This was performed with both live orchestra and synthesized track at various appearances. The recording below is the original a cappella recording layered over a synth mockup.
